A Message from Stephen

Dear Neighbor,

As the holiday season begins, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to you. Your support, engagement, and dedication to our community have made this year truly meaningful.

Together, we’ve worked hard to address the challenges facing our neighborhoods while creating opportunities to make District 3 an even better place to live, work, and thrive. From enhancing public safety and advancing housing affordability to supporting vibrant and inclusive cultural districts and strengthening infrastructure, your input and collaboration have been invaluable.

As we reflect on the year behind us, let’s also look ahead with hope and determination.

The holiday season is a time for connection, giving back, and celebrating the diversity that makes our community so special.

Thank you for allowing me to serve you as your Councilmember.

I wish you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season and a wonderful end to the year.

Yours in service,

Stephen

MTS Wildcatting Campaign

As Chair of the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS), ensuring the safety of our riders is a top priority. This includes not only passengers on buses and trolleys but also those utilizing other forms of transportation, like taxis.

I joined San Diego District Attorney Summer Stephan, fellow MTS Board members, and local law enforcement officials to address a critical issue impacting our region; wildcatting—the practice of unlicensed ridesharing along the border.

Together, we are taking proactive steps to combat this illegal activity, ensuring a safer, more reliable transit experience for everyone in our community.

Their dedication to providing essential resources, guidance, and opportunities for youth facing challenges is truly inspiring.

It's an honor to stand alongside them and support their mission to create a brighter future for the next generation.
